Welcome to the

Howdy Partners!

This year’s annual TATOA conference should be a shoot ‘em up time.

The Board has selected a unique venue for the conference in the Historic Stockyards in Forth Worth. Fort Worth was the last major civilized stop on the Chisholm Trail and by the 1860’s was referred to as “Cowtown.” With the arrival of the Texas & Pacific Railroad in 1876, Fort Worth became a major shipping point for livestock.

Stockyard Station retains the original architecture of the hog and cattle pens. Don’t worry—all of the modern conveniences such as wifi access and air conditioning are part of the building. The Hyatt Place is across the parking lot and there are no cots or sleeping bags there.

We have great sessions planned from our annual legislative/regulatory update in Custer’s Last Stand to a Programmer’s field production workshop in the Ranch Hand Roundup. Last year we heard from Houston and their wifi plans with Earthlink. Earthlink pulled out and Houston is looking at other options. In a new session this year we have invited the cellular companies to come tell attendees how they will keep their customers connected to the world and the internet through their phones or laptop cards. Is this going to be the future of wifi?

We also proud to present our 7th Annual programming awards. We have record number entries this year with 165 entries from 22 cities.

So mark your calendar for August 7-8 and don’t miss the fun in Fort Worth
